cottage6Set down its own private country lane, in a secluded position this charming country cottage is located amidst breath-taking countryside with distant views of the stunning dramatic coastline of North Devon.

The central, rural location offers relaxing surroundings and walks including 50 acres of woodland on the Farm itself.

Indicknowle is an award winning working farm with plenty of interest all year.  It is the ideal base for a family to experience a Country Holiday.  During your stay you can also sample our Ciders, seasonal vegetables from the vegetable garden, preserves and chutneys, free range chicken, goose and duck eggs as well as our own Ruby Red Beef, Lamb & Pork.  We also have our own amazing  spring water.

Mary’s cottage is located in a perfect setting close to a wealth of attractions.  There are many places to visit nearby including National Trust’s Arlington Court , the resorts of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth, from where you can take a boat trip along the coastline, hire a fishing boat or from Ilfracombe harbour sail to Lundy Island for the day.  Close by is also Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park!

A little further a field is the ancient town of Barnstaple, with its Doomsday associations.  Here you can find a good selection of shops, restaurants, museum, a theatre and various sporting facilities, not to mentions a 14th Century Parish Church, a fascinating Heritage Centre and daily Pannier Market.

For water sports enthusiasts, you can discover some of Britain’s finest beaches.  Woolacombe is just a ten minute drive away with over 2 miles of sand dunes.  Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands are also a must, affording some of the finest windsurfing in Devon, as well as being a haven for sunbathers and sandcastle builders.

Wonderful walking and riding can be enjoyed in the nearby Exmoor National Park, where red deer roam and the rugged moors and magnificent sea views can be admired – arguably one of the most scenic and beautiful areas of England.

There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy just a stone’s throw away from Mary`s Cottage ranging from Golf courses to fishing and miles of breath taking bridleways. From thriving market towns brimming with character to striking open space, wonderful wild moorland and captivating coastal walks.  Or, if you simply prefer to just watch the world go by then take a relaxing day to visit the quiet harbours and picturesque ports and eat some of the finest fish and chips or alternatively take a leisurely cream tea at a traditional Country Inn before returning to Mary`s Cottage for a well-earned rest.

Marys` Cottage

Accommodating up to 6 people, this charming cosy cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, with antique and period pieces.  Mary’s cottage is a spacious wing of the Old Farmhouse and is steeped in history.  It features a cosy sitting room with an impressive inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove.  Also on the ground floor is a fully fitted kitchen with all the mod cons you could ever need for a comfortable holiday, along with a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs, there are two spacious character bedrooms.  The master bedroom has a double bed with ensuite shower & WC and the second bedroom has a double with full size bunk beds and ensuite shower & WC.

Outside there is a large lawned area with picnic tables and benches.  There is parking to the front of the cottage.

Warning: Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times near the ponds.

This is a non-smoking cottage and no pets are allowed.

So that we can clean & prepare the cottage between guests, we ask that you arrive after 2pm and depart before 10am on the day of departure.  Changeover day is Saturday, unless you are on a short break.

* Supermarket deliveries are available.  You can order your groceries on line and have them delivered when you arrive
